On boycotting World Cup: this not a classic boycott call in that there is not a specific aim. It is a safety issue. DHS provides security for WC events in the U.S. It's not crazy to assume that this WC will precipitate kidnappings, injuries, & murder. Dangerous for fans, team staff & players.

I think Trump & his cronies will struggle to subjugate/terrorise the population of USA in the way that Hitler did.

because:
1 many US citizens are armed
2 modern comms mean it is much harder to hide crimes from public awareness, and resistance is easier to muster
3 USA is vast and multifarious.

We think cortex might function like a JEPA. It looks like prediction errors in layer 2/3 are not computed against input (as is the idea in predictive processing), but against a representation in latent space (i.e. like in a JEPA arxiv.org/abs/2301.08243 or RPL doi.org/10.1101/2025...).
