In boxing terms, Iran is doing an Ali rope-a-dope defense against the US. Absorbing blows, shifting its centre of gravity, counter-punching just enough to stay in the fight--nimble, agile and patient. Under Trump and Hegseth the US is a lumbering Foreman looking for a knockout.

Some useful idiots will spend their whole lives never truly understanding the opposition party are jobbers paid by the same people as the republicans and that electoralism is a trap to capture momentum of good ideas and render them inert. You'd have been better off joining a union or co-op

I have always found living in places that are overly flat (and especially ones with few trees) make me apathetic and depressed, listless and drained of energy

(though I had a friend that said hills made them feel hemmed in, and claustrophobic)

Finished Liddel-Hart's First World War and have moved on to his tome on the Second.
Immediately the typesetting has become tighter and a latent feeling of "now in the postwar it is obvious we fought the wrong opponent" which poisons this and similar works (depending on author)
