Maybe when Trump makes a dumb, desperate promise off the top of his head that he obviously can't do and won't do, it should be reported that way instead of sending the entire media into a weeklong digression on its feasibility.

I'm sure there's already a term for this, but I've noticed the most slop based informative videos do a thing I call "crafted digression".

They start with a thought or topic, then veer before completing it, over and over. "Before we can get to that, we need to know", "We'll get back to that" etc.
