One of the things I worried about with getting older is that is that my view of the world would ossify. That I would start to think that only whatever-I-grew-up-with was legitimate.

Instead, it feels like the opposite. My view is expanding while I see younger people's contract.

I remember the shock of first reading Speaking of Jennings! (published 1973) when he was suddenly using decimal money and I realised that the books were not set in some ossified past, but in the year they were written (despite Jennings not aging).
