People have forgotten that OG anticommunism was NOT based on the alleged infeasibility and incapability of communism. Anticommunists believed communism DID work, and it terrified them. That’s why the attacks leveled were based in appeals to religiosity, racism, avarice, tradition, and nationalism.

I never thought I would be finding myself agreeing with Sam Harris so much. Yeah I'm happy to lose these friends too. The heel turn, avarice and mendacity of these guys just makes me think of Ladytron's, "Destroy Everything You Touch."

The problem is that when government employees see that everything is for sale, government employees see that *everything* is for sale, including secrets.
The will to unrestrained avarice does not stop at the water’s edge.
