male socialization? you mean that thing I dealt with from a young age where my behavior was "corrected" by my peers and adults (often violently) which was so tortuous I started contemplating suicide at age 9?
I had the rope and the only thing that stopped me was a lack of a secure place to tie it.

filled in a publisher's author questionnaire for the first time in years. I forgot what a tortuous experience that is but I hope I handled it with great kindness, grace and humility. Or at least, you know, a bit more good-natured humour than I would have before.
