watching boys dont cry is what made me want to be sympathetic about alex and his misanthrope since hes an "elder trans". hes bitter and resentful of the world bc he had to live through a cold, uncaring, hostile world that saw him as a joke and by the time he had proper support, it was a bit too late

People look at me crazy when I said COVID to me was actually a time of hope; politics were getting more radical, we were de-atomizing and creating new communities. As a general misanthrope I had more hope for humanity than I ever had; then we decided again that profits are more important than lives.

I wish I could fully describe the feeling of fear, dissonance, disappointment, and even anger when someone new is friendly to me IRL without sounding like an absolute ass.

I know where it comes from, but I sound like a genuine misanthrope when I try to explain it.
