In a Keith Laumer Retief story, sending a goober like Trump to greet Xi at his arrival would be a deft diplomatic insult.

Problem is said timorous goober is our president, and the POTUS reduced to flunkie status waving "bye-bye" as Xi's limo speeds away is yet another humiliation for us.

The puny, pea-sized brains of timorous know-nothings who get intimidated by mere thoughts & words, might break when they see this, so I hasten to point out: I’m NOT preaching! I’m just exercising my constitutional right to think & speak about my wonder at the spectacle of clouds I saw from my room!
