The sad thing is, from a programmer's standpoint, the ColecoVision is a workhorse, with a swift clock speed (3.58MHz is how fast the 16-bit Super NES runs!) and a friendly design interface. I'm using CVBasic so that's obviously a crutch, but there's not much to confound you here.

Back in the old Media Matters Disqus days I used to compose jabberwocky to try to confound the Russian trolls. Didn’t work so well, but fun. Invoking the Battle of Tsushima rattled them, though.
