I've been watching the Alberta referendum with interest, so Canada isn't this bucolic pro immigrant place that it seems like compared to America... 😂 I've been to Vancouver before and tbh the thing I liked best about it was the vibrant immigrant culture. Little interest in visiting Alberta though

Municipal elections tomorrow, and you know what that means: Spending time today with notepad & laptop, figuring out who shares my values vs. who is speaking in right-wing code. Because good lord, even in the bucolic Cowichan Valley, there are some hateful mfers running for council & school board.
