I don't know where the government get their ideas of a bucolic offline childhood from. I grew up before the internet and vast chunks of my childhood were exceptionally boring. I was also quite lonely and still got bullied.

My morning ritual is looking out the art table window to see the day. Recently a few of the neighborhood deer have started bedding down in the backyard next door. For me there is such tenderness in this bucolic scene of the deer at rest. It sets my day off on good footing.
